Installing an SHX font: Copy.shx files into the Fonts folder within the AutoCAD program folder: C:Program FilesAutodeskAutoCAD 20xxFonts Note: PostScript fonts (.pfb) and shape files (.shp) can be converted to.shx by using the COMPILE command in AutoCAD. This tool can’t be used to write curve text along the spline, polyline or circle but there is a workaround that can be used to make a text curved along the circle. With ARCTEXT express tool you can write curve text in AutoCAD which is aligned to an arc. Obtain another copy of the SHX font file and replace it. Corrupt font file If the SHX file is in the AutoCAD Fonts folder and the program still does not show the font in the text editor, the file is corrupt or otherwise unreadable by AutoCAD. The font will be packed together with the drawing file.
